Are you looking for free things to do in Newcastle this summer? We will be turning up the excitement with six weeks of unforgettable fun events for families. Our lively line up is packed full of family-face painting character appearances (perfect for photo opportunities), Peter Rabbit Sculpture’s and much more.
Here’s what’s in store:
Little ones can transform into their favourite characters, animals or colourful creations at our free face‑painting station in the Community Quarter.
Dates: 25th, 26th, 30th & 31st July 1st & 2nd August
Time: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Donations are welcome via QR code, with all proceeds going to the Newcastle United Foundation.
Keep your eyes peeled, your favourite superheroes will be making heroic appearances throughout the centre. Expect high‑energy fun, photo moments and plenty of smiles.

Adding a touch of sparkle to the summer, our roaming princesses will be greeting families, posing for photos and spreading a little fairytale magic.

From 15th July, our charming Peter Rabbit sculpture will be taking pride of place in the centre. Each week, customers can scan the on‑site QR code to enter our free prize draw.
Prizes include brand gift cards, goody bags, and much more. So be sure to check back every week for your chance to be entered each week.

During our face painting and roaming entertainment sessions, we will be collecting donations for the Newcastle United Foundation, helping support their vital work across the North East community. Donations to the Newcastle United Foundation can be made by scanning the QR code at the activity.
The above activities will take place in Eldon Square, Newcastle, at our Community Quarter, making it a convenient, weatherproof destination for families all summer long. Plus, it’s a stone’s throw away from our Grey’s Quarter mall, which plays host to many of our much-loved restaurants, including family favourites Frankie & Benny’s, Chiquito’s, Bella Italia, The Bake (which offers halal options), and Crepeaffaire (perfect for dessert lovers).
