RAF Sidecar Team Comes to Eldon Square

Discover the world of British Sidecar Racing as the RAF Sidecar Team brings its championship racing machine to Eldon Square on Friday, 18 September at the Community Quarter between 9am and 6pm.

Visitors can get up close to the bike, meet members of the team and find out how rider and passenger work together at speeds of up to 150mph. Learn more about the precision, communication, teamwork and engineering expertise that go into competing in the British Sidecar Championship.

Discover the engineering behind the racing

Visitors can explore the championship racing machine, chat with team members and take photos alongside the bike.

The event will also give students from schools, colleges and universities an insight into the engineering, technology and data analysis that underpin modern motorsport. Find out how these skills are used in a high-performance racing environment and discover exciting STEM and engineering career pathways within the RAF, Facilities Management and Engineering.
