Oseyo

Something exciting is landing in Newcastle this July, as Eldon Square prepares to welcome Oseyo, the UK’s leading Korean food and lifestyle retailer, with its largest store to date.

Opening this July, the new store will bring an incredible mix of Asian food, drinks, beauty, lifestyle products and in-store experiences to the heart of Newcastle.

To celebrate the opening, visitors can enjoy a packed programme of entertainment and activities throughout the day, including an official opening ceremony, ribbon-cutting and countdown to opening, alongside a K-pop dance performance and a traditional lion dance performance.

Visitors can also look forward to product tastings and live tasting demonstrations throughout the store, offering the perfect opportunity to discover exciting new flavours and favourites from across Asia. To mark the occasion, Oseyo will also be giving away 200 exclusive VIP goodie bags to customers who spend £20 or more on opening day – available while stocks last. VIP goodie bags are limited to ONE per adult.

The new Freight Island venue has transformed the former Debenhams department store into a vibrant hub of activity, offering a dynamic mix of experiences from family-friendly events and global street food by day to high-energy DJ sets and live performances by night.

One of Freight Island’s standout elements is its extensive food and drink offering. The venue hosts a carefully curated selection of eateries and traders, including a service-led restaurant overseen by an exec chef, global street food stalls, and a food hall with communal seating beneath a retractable roof.

Freight Island Newcastle takes inspiration from some of the world’s leading social and entertainment spaces, bringing a mix of cultural and immersive experiences to the city from kids’ raves and Michelin-star-level dining to live performances and late-night parties.

Dave’s Hot Chicken, the fast-growing US restaurant brand, will open a new location at the centre – marking the brand’s first restaurant in the North East.

Dave’s Hot Chicken is a fast-casual restaurant known for its Nashville-style hot chicken. The restaurant focuses on a simple menu built around crispy chicken tenders and sliders that can be customised with several spice levels, ranging from mild to extremely hot. Alongside its signature chicken, the store offers sides such as crinkle-cut fries, mac and cheese, and kale slaw, as well as drinks and milkshakes, creating a quick and flavourful dining experience for fans of spicy comfort food.
