Mercury Prize Returns to Newcastle

Newcastle is set to come alive with music this autumn as the Mercury Prize Fringe 2026 takes over the city from 15–22 October.

Delivered by Generator and supported by Newcastle City Council, the week-long festival features more than 30 events across the city, including live performances, workshops, discussions and creative experiences celebrating both emerging and established talent.

The Fringe culminates with the Mercury Prize Awards Show at Utilita Arena Newcastle on 22 October, where artists from this year’s shortlisted Albums of the Year will perform live before the winner is announced.
