Security & Safety at Eldon Square

Eldon Square sits at the heart of Newcastle city centre, and we’re proud to provide a safe, welcoming environment for everyone who visits, shops, works or passes through our vibrant destination. Our dedicated security team operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ensuring the centre remains a secure and comfortable place from early morning until late evening.

Alongside our core security officers, we also have a welcoming Security Host team positioned throughout the mall. They’re here to offer guidance, answer questions, support visitors and retailers, and help create a friendly, reassuring presence across the shopping centre. Whether you need directions, assistance or simply a quick chat, our hosts are always happy to help.

We work closely with Northumbria Police, which maintains a strong presence across the city centre and collaborates with us to keep Eldon Square safe. Their dedicated neighbourhood team supports our operations, helping us respond quickly and effectively to any concerns.

Eldon Square carry out ongoing See, Check and Notify (SCaN) training with Counter Terrorism Police North East, as well as Action Counters Terrorism (ACT) Awareness training.
