6 Weekends of Fun and Craft Activities at Eldon Square
Over the course of six weeks, families can enjoy a series of exciting, themed adventures. The journey begins on Friday the 25 July with the magic Princess Takeover, followed by Wizarding World. Dive into action-packed fun with Superheroes. The adventure continues the high seas in Pirate Adventure followed by Art Attack and wraps up with playful excitement in Funfair Games. Each week offers a unique experience filled with imagination, fun, and discovery. And don’t forget your camera as there will be photo opportunities throughout!

NE1’s Screen on the Green – Free Outdoor Cinema
Old Eldon Square becomes Newcastle’s outdoor living room once again, thanks to the return of NE1’s Screen on the Green—a much loved city summer staple. This free family activity is perfect for movie lovers, casual shoppers, and city explorers alike.
Expect:
Disney Pixar Movie Screenings – Laugh, sing, and get all the feels with family-friendly favourites and modern classics.
Tiny Toon Screenings – Special early-morning showings with gentle themes and shorter run-times, tailored for toddlers and younger children.
Bring a picnic blanket or settle into one of the deckchairs provided and enjoy some of the best films for free! Explore the full list of movie timings here.
NE1’s Tiny Toon – A World of Make-Believe
One of this year’s must-visit family activities in Newcastle, Tiny Toon is back and better than ever! Taking over Old Eldon Square from 21 July to 1 September, this imaginative miniature-village is designed for children aged 0–7 and offers free fun for all the family.
Highlights include:
Entry is FREE and no booking is needed—just drop in between 10am and 5pm (10am–4:30pm on Sundays). It’s perfect for curious adventurous and a great way to spend the day during the school holidays.
