Eldon Square is delighted to announce the launch of a new Food Donation Box, providing shoppers with a simple and meaningful way to support local families during their visit to the centre.
The donation box is located outside Fenwick, will be available until Wednesday 21st January. Visitors are encouraged to support the food donation bank, by providing whatever they can.
What Can Be Donated?
Eldon Square is collecting new, unopened items that are within their use-by dates for at least 6 months. The following items are particularly needed:
Food & Essential Items
• Cereal (max 500g)*
• Pasta (max 500g)*
• Oil (1 litre)
• Tinned tuna
• Microwaveable rice pouches (any flavour)
• Pasta sauce
• Curry sauce
• Tinned vegetables
• Tinned soup
• Baked beans
• Chopped tomatoes
• Tinned fruit
• Tinned meat
• Biscuits
• UHT milk
• Honey or chocolate spread
• Dried fruit and nuts
• Chocolate and sweets
• Handwash
*Smaller pack sizes help ensure donations can be shared fairly across more households.
Supporting Feeding Families
All donations collected at Eldon Square will be donated to Feeding Families, a North East–based charity dedicated to tackling food poverty and supporting people through difficult times. The charity works closely with communities, schools, and partners across the region to provide emergency food and essential supplies to individuals and families who need them most.
