Entertain the Kids This Half-Term
There’s no need to worry about keeping the kids entertained this February half-term holiday, as Eldon Square and our centre brands offer a range of activities and fun foodie treats to keep your little ones occupied and engaged.
A LEGO® Heart Is Just the Start
Calling all Lego® enthusiasts. Join us on Tuesday 21 February, for our LEGO® workshop in partnership with Brick This and Newcastle Hospitals Charity.
Build a LEGO® heart with our special guest Steve Mayes, the renowned local LEGO® Architect from Brick This and learn about the incredible gift of organ donation and the pioneering work of the Freeman Hospital, supported by Newcastle Hospitals Charity.
The free workshops will be located in the upper Grey’s Quarter opposite Chatime and run from 11am –1pm and 2pm – 4pm. Twenty-Five unique LEGO® hearts will be up for grabs for customers to build and take home during each session and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Fenwick
If your kids love getting involved with fun activities, then Fenwick has just the thing. Join in with activities including a treasure hunt, colouring in and word searches located in the toy department on the third floor throughout the half-term week. Plus, there will be free face painting on 23 & 24 February.
Gorilla Bar & Bowling
Gorilla Bowling can be found in upper Grey’s Quarter and is the perfect place to find refuge from the cold weather. The eight-lane, the ten-pin bowling alley is open all week and has a wide selection of activities to participate in as well as bowling. These include pool, table tennis and arcade games for the whole family to enjoy. Gorilla Bowling also offers a selection of food choices that are ideal for a tasty treat.
- Children must be supervised by a responsible person aged 16 or over.
- Tenpin bowling prices start at £8.50 for 1 adult game and £6.50 per child/concession.
Eldon Soft Play
Are you looking for somewhere to take the kids where they can have fun? Eldon Soft Play is just the place. Kids can tackle the ball pool swamps, crawl through tunnels and swing through the trees while parents sit back and relax with a fresh coffee and snacks. Eldon Soft Play is open daily from 10am – 5pm (the last entry is 4pm). Walk-ins are welcome. Excluding parties & events, which can be booked via the Better App here.
- Soft play costs £2 per session for Under 2s and £6.00 for children over 2 years old.
Super Heros Assemble
Join us for a jam-packed, fun-filled day that your young superheroes will enjoy! From snapping a superhero pose with Supergirl and Spiderman to creating your own superhero mask, adventures await!
How can you get involved? Head down to Eldon Square, Newcastle on Wednesday 22 February in upper Grey’s Quarter (opposite Chatime) and discover what it means to be a superhero.
The Works
The Works are also encouraging the kids to get creative this half-term by posting various activities for them to get involved with on their Instagram page. Whether it’s stimulating their brains with quiz books, mastering their artist skills by learning how to make lanterns or working on a brand new craft project The Works have a boredom-busting idea for the whole family.
